In the east …

My third week in China now and i am still learning so many new things each day about food, language even English … The thing that i enjoy most though is these very strange and awkward situations i get into or just the bizzare things i see …. I mean today, I saw a woman riding a trailer bike that was full of litter ON FIRE!!!!! I was in a supermarket last week where there are live snakes, frogs, turtle, eels … you name it … but they weren’t pets; they were on the menu! I am eating so much food these days and theres no doubt i’m putting on weight (finally) so i am gyming it up in our ghetto apartment gym playground everyday and i have to walk up 14 flights of stairs to get home so somethings got to happen ….

I’m working in probably the nicest building in xi’an at the minute and all the kids i’m teaching are very rich and spoilt! One of the teachers is introducing me to a woman that organises private teaching next week … the only downfall is the classes are 40 - 60 students at one time!
If you want to know mor about the city i’m in google Xi’an … it’s pretty sick i’m not gunna lie and to be honest i thought i could write this blog and not concentrate on the smell of the eastern toilets in here …. but i can’t so

Xi’an

Hey,

I’m no longer in Shenzhen because they found me a job in the sort of west midlands of China in an amazing city called Xi’an. Everything is sweet so far, this city is 100 times nicer than Shenzhen and 1,000 times friendlier. The city center is picture perfect and there are loads of tourist attractions in the earea including the terracotta warriors and possibly the most dangerous hike in the world. We spent the first night in a village outside the city in some hot springs in the mountains which was awesome and now i am back living in the city above the school. Everything is super cheap also ie. Coke = 1 yuan (10 pence) Hotel = 25 - 80 yuan (2.50 - 8 quid) chicken kebab or noodles = 1 maybe 2 yuan (10 or 20p) and the bus is 1 yuan (10p).
My only nightmare is travellers cheques … Nowhere cashes them in so i have 200 quid sitting in my wallet doing jackshit and if i run out of wedge i’m fucked! My advice is never touch them fucking things!

Facebook is virtually impossible to get on so don’t even other messaging me … if you want to know how i am email me

Chinaa

My third day in China and i still can’t get to grips, this place is so different to anything i have ever seen i haven’t got all the time in the world so to sum up everything i know about China … here goes

Everyone drives like maniacs ie. driving the wrong way up streets,on the path, no one is ever in lane and they drive very fast as well.
They love to stare at us westerners…. i don’t think they see too many and they really look baffled about us
Everyone is brutally honest …. if you have long hair your a tranny, if your fat they will let you know and same for ugly, there are even cases that ugly people can’t find employment because most contracts are pretty boy contacts
Finding a bar round here is like getting blood out of a stone
The bank takes an hour to get 100 pound out
and finally a 3 course meal which could be the best food i’ve ever tasted is about £1.50

All in all i am enjoying it loads but jesus is this place weird ….

p.s Dog is the nicest meat ever

Permus Blogus

Hi,

Obviously Perm (Lee) here … starting this blog so everyone can share my little adventure to China .. or Butt? If you don’t know the crack is .. i’ve just bagged myself a teaching job in Shenzhen, China teaching basic english to probably all levels and ages. I fly out next Tuesday (23rd March) so i’m all hyped but nothing is ever straight forward and although many have been supportive … there are still doubters/haters to my face or behind my back. What these people don’t realise is they just inspire me to do it more and prove them wrong … At the minute i’m anxious to go and cannot wait to get out of this bad routine or ditch i’m stuck in … Get out there and do it. I’ll end this blog with a quote from someone whos probably dead, but was once alive enough to say this …

‘All men dream, but not equally … those that dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act upon those dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.’
